Graston® Technique

Graston® Technique improves mobility and flexibility by breaking down scar tissue. To preform this technique our chiropractors use specially designed stainless steel instruments that have been designed to treat specific parts of the body. As a result Graston® Technique has been clinically proven to achieve quicker and better outcomes in treating short and long term conditions. Examples of conditions that respond well include: Neck Pain; Carpal Tunnel Syndrome; Shoulder Pain; Back Pain; Golfer’s Elbow; Tennis Elbow and Knee Pain amongst others.

Using Graston® Technique can help decrease overall treatment time by aiding the body’s recovery and reducing inflammation in soft tissue.

FAKTR

The name of this technique is pronounced ‘Factor’ which stands for Functional And Kinetic Treatment with Rehabilitation. This is a way of assessing and treating you while you move which allows the treatment to be more specific, and as a result, more effective. This technique is commonly used to treat sports people but it can be also applied to any “movement” such as gardening or playing with the children.

Active Release Techniques (ART)

This is a patented, state of the art, soft tissue massage technique which targets muscles, tendons, ligaments, connective tissue and nerves. It provides relief from problems such as headaches; back pain; carpel tunnel syndrome; shin splits; shoulder pain; sciatica and knee pain. All of these symptoms can be caused by over-used muscles which can lead to small tears or pulls. As a result there is often a build up of scar tissue that will reduce range of movement and strength and may also cause pain.

ART targets the areas with tension and movement and long-lasting relief can be achieved for the patient.

Myofascial Dry Needling

Adapted from acupuncture this therapy uses fine needles to target trigger points that are causing pain, tenderness or problems with movement. The trigger points targeted in Myofascial Dry Needling are commonly thought of as knots in the muscles. Dry needling into these can be very helpful in relieving tightness and/or pain.

Myofascial Dry Needling can help with a variety of conditions – such as back pain; headaches; osteoarthritis; inflammatory conditions and post-surgery recovery.
Trigger points in this instance can be thought of as tight spots or knots in the muscle and dry needling into these can be very helpful in relieving tightness and/or pain.

Chiropractic Adjustments (Chiropractic Manipulation)

Chiropractic adjustment or manipulation is one of the most commonly used techniques in chiropractic and the one that chiropractors are most associated with. Chiropractors may use their hands to restore normal movement to any dysfunctional joint throughout the body but are best known for adjusting the spine.

Elastic Therapeutic Taping

Commonly used by amateur and professional sports people, taping can help to support muscles reducing pain and fatigue from over-use. Correctly applied taping can also aid an improvement in motion and adjust minor mis-alignments that occur from tightened muscles.
