What is Chiropractic and What to Expect

Chiropractic doesn’t just treat symptoms – it addresses the underlying cause of the problem.

Chiropractors train for a minimum of 4 years fulltime to understand the spine and nervous system. Chiropractic is regulated by the General Chiropractic Council and in addition to obtaining a degree all chiropractors must undertake continued professional development.

YOUR FIRST CHIROPRACTIC VISIT

AT ACTIVE CARE CHIROPRACTIC

Before your first visit we send you a form via email for you to complete online. This form gives the clinic and chiropractor as much detail as possible about you before you arrive, allowing us to get a clear understanding of your lifestyle and what may have brought you to the clinic, ensuring we can provide care that is perfect for you.

One of our chiropractors will have read this form in detail and will understand your situation before you arrive.

All of our Chiropractors are registered with the General Chiropractic Council (GCC) and members of the British Chiropractic Association (BCA)

AT YOUR FIRST VISIT

One of our chiropractors will take your “case history”. This is an opportunity to discuss all of the different aspects of your life that might affect how you feel and the challenges you face. Again this will help you and your chiropractor to create a plan ensuring your treatment is tailored exactly to your needs.

You will then undergo a thorough physical examination taking into account all the different aspects of your health. This examination will help to work out exactly what is going on so that again with your chiropractor you can tailor a care plan to suit your needs.

At Active Care Chiropractic our aim is to help you feel as good as you possibly can – and will work with you to develop a plan to achieve this.

Our clinic is focussed on getting you the best care for you, meaning if we feel that you are unlikely to benefit from Chiropractic (or one of our other specialist techniques) we will do our best to suggest an alternative health professional to visit.

If one of our chiropractors feels you require imaging such as an X-Ray or MRI Scan then this will be discussed and we can even help to organise this for you.

RECEIVING TREATMENT FOR THE FIRST TIME

Before any treatment begins it is very important that you completely understand everything. You will therefore be given a thorough and detailed “report of findings” in which everything will be explained to you as clearly as possible.

Your initial visit will last approximately 45 minutes to an hour. Subsequent appointments generally last 15 minutes.

If at any time during any stage of your treatment you have any questions or would like to discuss anything with your Chiropractor then always feel free to ask.

THAT IS ALL!

We look forward to seeing you again!

Although ideally you wont need to return, many injuries that chiropractic care can help with are injuries that return or require regular treatment, luckily we love seeing returning faces and building a relationship with our clients that goes far deeper than the clinic.

Our team like to build bonds with regular customers, helping to shift your chiropractic routine from a chore to something that you look forward to.
